Ron & Shelley Mayert, Owners

As newcomers to the British Columbia wine industry, owners Ron and Shelley Mayert are thrilled to enter the industry and to grow the legacy that the McWatters family has created. They bring fresh eyes and are keen to build relationships with industry partners, valued winery customers, and a family of talented employees.

“The McWatters’ longstanding reputation is irreplaceable, and we will always honour the legacy that Harry, Christa-Lee, and Darrien have brought to the Canadian wine industry,” remarks Ron.

British Columbians through and through, Ron Mayert was born and raised in Summerland. Shelley Mayert grew up on a farm in the Fraser Valley, and the couple now lives in Abbotsford with their family. These BC-born roots are why the Mayerts are so passionate about the sustainability of this beautiful region.

George James, President

George James is the President of TIME Family of Wines where he plays a pivotal role in executing a comprehensive business strategy to drive company growth and achieve financial objectives. A seasoned executive with more than 20 years of experience across various industries, including wine, hotels, and hospitality, George brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his current role.

Previously, George served as the Vice President, Finance of the Verhoeff Group of Companies, Phantom Creek Estates and CFO of Black Hills Estate Winery.

George has a Bachelor of Arts and holds a Chartered Accountant designation (CPA CA) and is the current treasurer for the BC Wine Grape Council.

Lynzee Schatz, Winemaker

Lynzee joined the team in 2019 and is the winemaker for Chronos, TIME Winery, McWatters Collection, and Evolve Cellars.

Schatz has a Bachelor of Wine Science from Charles Sturt University and has completed vintages at several wineries in California, Australia, and Ontario.

After gathering precious experience in other wine regions, she decided to return home to the Okanagan to pursue her winemaking career.

Megan McKay Hall, Sales & Marketing Manager

Megan has long been a wine lover and comes with a deep rooted background in hospitality and sales. From the beginning of her career she has loved storytelling and the magic and connection it brings to the sales process – more importantly, how it connects ourselves and others to the wonderful world of wine. With over 2 decades of sales and customer management experience in the beverage and hospitality space, Megan is excited to link together her passions for imbibing delicious beverage and sharing the stories that go along with them.

Along with a deep passion for wine Megan brings a Sales and Marketing background across all channels with a special place in her heart for independent producers and operators. WSET and Cicerone trained and a strong believer that Chardonnay pairs beautifully with every dish and occasion on the planet she is proud to be a part of  TIME Family of Wines and working with this award-winning portfolio.

Becky Marte, Controller

Becky began her role as Controller in October 2020.  She oversees financial reporting, budgeting, and human resources for Time Family of Wines.

Becky is a driven accounting professional with a strong passion for the local wine industry. She holds a CPA designation and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She has worked in the wine industry for 7+ years. When Becky isn’t immersed in an excel spreadsheet, she enjoys long distance running and time with her family.

Anna Patterson, Evolve Cellars Manager & Wine Club Coordinator

Anna grew up here in the Okanagan Valley, surrounded by lakes, grapes, and loved ones. In no time at all, she found herself nestled in the world of wine and has been torn between working in the cellar and sharing the wines’ stories for just over a decade.

When not at TIME Family of Wines you can find her hiking the hills with her partner Krista and pup Archie, tucked into MuD’s workshop or down at the Penticton Farmer’s Market.

Kellie Zimmer, Food & Beverage Manager

Kellie has a long history of working in our vibrant hospitality industry all over BC. Her love the outdoors brought her to Whistler where she worked at Whistler Blackcomb for over 15 years and then moving on to F&B Director at the Sea to Sky Gondola as well as the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel & Conference Center.

A proud member of the Association of Professional Sommeliers and having a true passion for food and wine Kellie has a love for pairings that create lasting memories and experiences. Having recently moved to Penticton from Sun Peaks she is proud to be part of this new community and looks forward to finding your perfect pairing at OROLO Restaurant + Cocktail Bar.

Bruno Terroso, Executive Chef

Well integrated in the local culinary scene and proud to be a part of the Time Family team, Bruno joins us with a wealth of experience and a knack for producing beautifully paired and creative cusisine. With Terroso’s 14 + years experience as Executive Chef at The Vanilla Pod/Poplar Grove as well as running his highly successful catering business Bluebonnet Culinary, running the food program at another premium dining experience in Penticton is an exciting – and delicious – venture.

He looks forward to welcoming back local supporters and visitors alike as well as introducing new diners to fresh, local and innovative options at our winery.
